What is eSIM ?
eSIM actually stands for embedded SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) . It is an advanced type of sim used nowadays . Before we were used to take out our physical sim which we used in our phone to make contacts . The physical sim is still used by majority . But soon the eSIM will be adopted by everyone . eSIM actually is a SIM which is already embedded in the system . It does not need any kind of physical SIM support .
In eSIM the SIM embedded on the system can change the network anytime and it supports all the servers which allow eSIMs to access it . It finishes all the mess work of keeping a physical SIM card . By which phone takes some place for it . If the SIM slot is not there we can see that the speed will also increase . And if we will use eSIM cards the speed of making calls or connecting increases . If we want to use any service provider in our SIM we just need the app of our service provider we need to make account or whatever it may be . Then we just need to scan the QR code and the work is done . It typically takes 2 to 3 hours for a eSIM to get activated and work properly .
In India service providers like Airtel have recently gave support to eSIM . But the problem is that in this date the phone like Pixel 3 , Pixel 3 XL , Iphone Xs , Xr can only use it . But the process is very easy where the user just needs to contact the service provider then do all kind of scanning etc . After activation is successfully completed , the old physical SIM in which the number was linked will be disabled . So that there should not be any miscommunication . And if we want our physical SIM we just need to disable the eSIM and we will get back the physical SIM .
eSIM is so secure that if our phone gets stolen , then also we can protect our privacy . We just need to contact the service provider to disable the eSIM . eSIM will surely benefit the Indian market if it comes to all the devices between 2020 . It can help a developer of a phone company to emerge new ideas . People can use eSIM along with one physical SIM if they are using a eSIM supporting phone nowadays . It has just made all the work easy .
