Before the era of Google Maps , there were maps printed on paper . They were portable but were big and the places which were new seemed to be difficult to reach . We were also not able to know where we are . The problem was to find the direction in which to go . But after 8 February , 2008 this scenario started changing . This was the date when Google Maps were introduced . But before that Google acquired a company named Where To? At that time Google wanted to provide such ma services which were perfect as well as convenient . Because at that time there was another site called Mapquest which also exists now and has improved , was not so much convenient . People needed to refresh it continously .
But have you ever thought that how Google Maps is so accurate !
Google tied up with the Goverments . They went around everywhere and found out imformation . From there they took a large offline data and published it online . They wanted to provide better services over the web . From all this they got a basic map with many street and cities . But all the accurate information were still left . Now the user when goes to any relative's house or somewhere particularly , needs the street view of a street because the information required is very tiny . That details were to be covered by the Google Street View .
The Google got all the street view by launching many cars on the streets . All those cars had a 360 degree camera which captured the whole street and analysed it . The street view car goes through every signboard or signals and saves it in its memory . In this it prepares a map of the particular area with all the details . All the roads , their starting or ending points all the data gets stored in the database of Google .

Apart from satellites or cars Google also uses helicopters or aeroplanes for more better views of places . All the places or landmarks or shops or businesses are located on Google Maps . Google tries to find out everything on a place . Moreover businessmen or shopkeeper also put the landmark of their shops or organisation on the Google Maps and give adequate information .
We can see the start driving option in our Maps . Where th GPS gets on and the map's pointer moves according to our movement .
Google uses our location for informing us many things . Like the real time traffic of a place is detected by the Google through our location . Google stores everything in its database so it can clearly analyse places with more traffic , by creating a record of it and it can see that in a particular place in which time there is more traffic or activity and it informs us in that way .

It has a lot of data in its database . Google can also identify something on the basis of traffic or activity in a place . For example a new road or shortcut for a place is constructed and is not listed in Google Maps , then by the activity in it Google can identify about the route and lists it . Google never fails to show or guide us to our destination . It shows the most suitable and best route to us .
